Friday, 08 August 2008 08:59

In 2007, the Council established a subsidiary expert mechanism under resolution 6/36 to provide it with  expertise on the rights of indigenous peoples. The expert mechanism is made up of five independent experts. For more information on the independent experts, see the members page. For more information on the Expert Mechanism, see the OHCHR page.

Funding for representatives of indigenous communities and organisations to attend the Expert Mechanism can be sought from the Voluntary Fund for Indigenous Populations.
